TheDream.US is now accepting applications for the "The Opportunity Scholarship" of up to $80,000 for Dreamers living in Alaska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Fifty of these scholarships will be offered and the deadline for applications is January 28. Eligibility and application information can be found here.
Bank of America is accepting applications for their Student Leaders Program. Through Student Leaders, Bank of America recognizes high school students who lead and serve in their own communities and beyond. The goal is to connect Student Leaders to tools and resources to help make communities better. The application period for the 2021 Student Leader program is November 2 – January 29, 2021.
AHAM has opened their scholarship award to eligible Hispanic high school seniors in the following counties of the Upstate: Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenwood, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union. The South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs is creating a network connecting Hispanic students, young professionals, business owners, and community leaders together for the purpose of career and educational advancement by taking this quick, 3-minute survey.
The Truist Culinary and the Hospitality Innovation Center are getting ready about their new Quick Jobs basic cooking class, February 15 thru February 25th, and the basic service class, March 1- March 5th. The program includes professional etiquette coursework, personal hygiene, and ServSafe Food Handler certification. As part of the continuing support model for the program is to be a culinary mentor as they continue their careers which would include professional guidance, continued job placement, and possible continuing education opportunities.
