Lindsey Tabor

Lindsey joined the AmeriCorps VISTA Bridges program with United Way of Greenville County in 2016 to gain experience in non-profit management, and support local non-profits in their efforts to have a magnified impact through collaboration. She chose to serve with the Hispanic Alliance because of a sense of personal calling to support and learn from the Upstate Hispanic community.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Furman University, Lindsey fell in love with Upstate South Carolina, and its vibrant mix of urban and rural lifestyles. She received her M.A. in Clinical-Health Psychology from Appalachian State University, and her Paralegal Certificate from Midlands Technical College. She has also accumulated a significant number of graduate divinity courses in pastoral counseling in the pursuit of having a multi-disciplinary perspective to inform her work.

Thus far, she has focused her direct services work on populations that struggle with persistent inequalities including those with mental illness and the HIV+ community.  These experiences are treasured sources of wisdom as she partners with HA to tackle poverty and prejudice on a systemic scale in the Greenville community. Her personal passions for writing and design have enabled her to give voice to the stories of the Hispanic community and the vision of the Hispanic Alliance. She also works closely with her United Way Bridges team to build capacity and brand recognition for the EnCompass Project, a collective impact data-sharing initiative tracking real-time client use of community services with the goal of developing an evidence-based pathway to financial stability.

Lindsey aspires to continue her work with immigrants in areas such as legal access, advocacy, and human trafficking prevention. She seeks to become specialized in organizational problem-solving through creative management and communication to foster a network of independently strong and collaborative organizations working on immigrant needs.
