    JOB SUMMARY:

    Work cooperatively with county, regional, and state Extension staff to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, report, and evaluate area and statewide programs in agribusiness and livestock. Assume other duties as assigned.

    JOB DUTIES:

    60% - Essential - Develop and deliver agribusiness educational programs about farm financial risk analysis, management, marketing, and policy. Provide technical expertise related to livestock and poultry. Work with colleagues on issues to deliver educational programs. Conduct training for Extension agents and teams. Develop and instruct programs to appropriate stakeholders. Perform Farm Analysis for benchmarking purposes.

    25% - Essential - Develop program curricula, articles, publications, and media in collaboration with other agents, specialists and the Agribusiness Team. Develop and update decision-making tools including commodity enterprise budgets. Collaborate on grants and projects as it relates to Agribusiness Team core objectives. Actively participate in any committees or groups as assigned.

    10% - Essential - Responsible for all regularly required program evaluation, annual reporting to Extension, College and University reporting systems, Civil Rights compliance in all programmatic activities. Develop programming initiatives that generate revenue through grant opportunities, sponsorships, and fee driven programs and provide reporting.

    5% - Essential - Build and maintain strong alliances with regional agribusiness development stakeholders. Collaborate with Extension colleagues, farmers, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities to link producers and markets. Assist colleagues and stakeholders to plan and implement production measures, based upon market demand, and introduce them to the business analysis of production opportunities that hold high potential profitability.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education - Master's Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Finance or closely related field is required.

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

    Work Experience - 3+ years in Extension or in the agricultural sector working with farms and agricultural professionals is preferred but not required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    JOB KNOWLEDGE
    Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

    BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Work Experience - 3+ years in Extension or in the agricultural sector working with farms and agricultural professionals is preferred but not required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Overnight Travel - 5%

    Other - This position requires significant time working at a computer using spreadsheets and financial or other software. The candidate must be able to review numberics and data to determine its meaning and appropriately and clearly communication its meaning to stakeholders.

    Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ( $57,600.00 - $85,000.00 )
